  • You can pay online
  • You can call us at 603-941-9041 and use our automated payment lines.
  • You can go on Autopay!

When is my Payment Due?

  • We bill on the first of each month.

I'm Ready to Move Out of my Unit - Do You Require Advanced Notice?

  • Advanced notice would be great, if you can - but, we don't require it. However please note, if you move out and do not notify us, you may be billed for another month - especially if you leave the unit locked. Please be sure all of your belongings are removed, and leave the unit UNLOCKED and unlatched - this will confirm to us that the unit is indeed vacant and ready for a new tenant.

I Can't Find the Key to my Unit - What Can I do?

  • We can cut the lock for you, for a fee. For reasons we hope you can understand, we do not allow bolt cutters or other cutting tools to be used on the property by anyone other than our personnel. Please keep in mind, if you do try to remove your own lock, you can be held liable for any damage done to the latch or door. Call us, it's better that way.

Do You Pro-Rate My Final Month?

  • As a general rule, the storage industry does not prorate the final month. If you have any questions regarding your unit and rental agreement, please don't hesitate to contact us. We strive to achieve the best customer experience possible. One way we can achieve this is by having an open dialogue!

GENERAL FAQ

What is Self-Storage and How Does it Work?

  • 603 Storage provides a variety of storage unit sizes and types available to the public for personal, business, and recreational storage use. If you're looking to clear up some much needed space at home or finding yourself with limited to no space to hold much needed business items, 603 Storage is for you. We offer clean, secure storage solutions at competitive prices.

What do I need in order to Rent?

  • We require a valid photo ID and a credit/debit/prepaid card for payment to rent with us.
  • We also require that all renters sign our storage agreement - one renter per agreement/unit only.
  • If you have questions regarding which size is right for you, please don't hesitate to contact us and we will help you determine that. Each unit on our website has a description using household room sizes as an example, as a guide. In general, go larger than you might think, if you can afford to - and leave yourself room to access your belongings. Most people believe they will not need to access their unit frequently, but often find themselves needing something unexpectedly.

Who Else Has Access to my Storage Unit?

  • The unit you rent is secured with your lock and your key (or our Noke, electronics system) - only you can decide who has access to your unit and who doesn't. We do not allow anyone but the person that signed the Rental Agreement access. We feel this only adds to the security of your items. However, it's your decision if you want to divulge your unit number and key (or share Access through the Noke Storage Entry App) to anyone of your choosing - as long as you're comfortable with them accessing your unit. We cannot be held accountable if you chose to give someone else access to your unit.

Will My Rate Increase?

  • At 603 Storage, we do not believe in constantly raising your rate! We offer a 9 month rate lock on most rentals. Some restrictions do apply. For instance, if you reserved a unit through a third party company that charges us fees (i.e. Sparefoot), or initially rented at a discounted rate, or are late with your payments more than one time, your rate may increase before the 9 months.

What's The Difference between Drive-up and Temperature Controlled Units?

  • Temperature Controlled Units: This type of storage is perfect for items sensitive to fluctuating temperatures. These units are designed to stay above 55 degrees and below 85 degrees Fahrenheit (in normal conditions - we cannot guarantee this in power outages/etc.). While slightly more expensive than drive-up units, the few dollars you spend in extra rent could save you thousands of dollars in damage down the road. Common items susceptible to hot and cold weather include: wooden furniture, books and comics, electronics, antiques, vintage drum kits and other older, valuable instruments, artwork, and other items. If you're unsure about the type of storage you need, contact us.
  • Drive-Up Storage Units: Drive-up storage is perfect for those looking for quick, easy access to their items. Drive straight up to your unit, park, unload. While this is often the most convenient method of storage, it offers slightly less protection from the elements than temperature controlled storage. However, Drive-Up is easily the most popular form of storage, mostly for it's quick access. Just because it doesn't have the level of temperature control offered by other storage types doesn't mean it's any less secure, clean, and reliable.

How long can I rent my unit?

  • Rent your unit for as long (or short) as you need! We offer month-to-month leases and bill in one-month increments. Our goal is to make your storage experience as simple and easy as possible.

Can I Rent a Unit Over The Phone or Online?

  • Yes you can! Many other facilities require you to show up on their schedule, fill out a lot of paperwork right in the middle of a move, and generally waste your time - we don't do that. We have a seamless one-call-does-it-all move-in system that makes it easier and faster. We can even rent you a unit via text message or email! Our website is another great option for a fully contactless rental experience.

Are My Items Insured While Being Stored At Your Facility?

  • Renting a storage unit is similar to renting an apartment. The same way your landlord doesn't insure your personal belongings, we don't insure your items either. However, we do offer an excellent and affordable Insurance program that you can purchase through us. Please note: if you have homeowner's or renter's insurance, your property may be covered, but you should double check with your agent.

What do I do if my unit is frozen shut in the winter?

  • Living in NH, this can happen occasionally. Please do not chip ice around the door as this may result in damage to the unit. Never use a heat source on the unit. Please call us and we will assist you.

What Forms of Payment do You Accept?

  • We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and Debit or Prepaid Card. We also accept payments online once you are a tenant. We also offer Automatic billing which most of our customers prefer!

Important Things to Know Before You Store

  • We require tenants to use a High Quality lock. We supply FREE high security disk locks with most rentals, because we want your goods to be safe.

  • Place furniture and mattresses on wooden pallets (in units with concrete floors) to protect from flooding. Put plastic wrap on top of fabric-covered furniture, and blankets on top of wood furniture.

  • Don’t put the mattress on top of anything that can make it bend, or place heavy items on top of the mattress.

  • Place book boxes on the bottom of stacks, as they are the heaviest items.

  • Don’t stack heavy items on top of dishware.

  • When storing appliances, leave the doors open to prevent moisture build-up.

  • Store mirrors on their side.

  • Place your TV on top of heavier items in the back of the unit.

  • Items that are used less should go in the back of the unit.

  • Items that are more expensive should go in the back of the unit, out of site of anyone who might look into your unit while you are accessing it.

  • Leave a few aisles so you can easily access everything, and also leave a little bit of space between things to allow for air movement and prevent moisture build-up.

Safe Keeping Tips for Packing and Storing

Items You May Need:

  • Markers

  • Labels

  • Blankets

  • Plastic wrap

  • Sandwich/zip lock bags

  • Bubble or foam wrap

  • Wood pallets

  • Duct tape

  • Hangers

  • Plastic totes

  • Cedar chips or silicone packets

Steps:

  1. Disassemble furniture as much as possible and wrap the legs of tables and beds in a blanket or foam wrap.

  2. Place screws, bolts or any hardware into a plastic bag and label the bag.

  3. Wrap mattresses in a plastic mattress bag.

  4. Wrap blankets or sheets around couches and wrap foam around any wood legs.

  5. Condition any leather items, like furniture or clothing, with a leather conditioner.

  6. Pack books on their back, not on their spine, in small boxes.

  7. Wash your dishes and wrap them in bubble or foam wrap. Pack them in boxes designed for dishware (dishpacks).

  8. Scrub the inside and outside of appliances and let them dry.

  9. Place duct tape in an ‘X’ on your mirror, wrap the corners in foam or bubble wrap, and place them inside a flat cardboard box.

  10. Disassemble your TV from the stand. Wrap a thick blanket around your television, or use foam cutouts that it came with.

  11. Wash all linens and place them inside totes with cedar chips or silicone packets.

  12. For clothing that needs to remain hung, wash them, cover them in plastic wrap, and hang them on wardrobe hangers.

Other Storage Tips

Photos: Photographs tend to curl over time. Keep them flat and invest in a sealed, airtight container. All of us have irreplaceable photos. Because they tend to take up little space, it might not be a bad idea to try and keep these items out of storage. Our rental contract limits our liability when it comes to irreplaceable items - please read it thoroughly.

Dishes & Glassware: It’s worth taking the extra time to wrap dishes and glassware in bubble wrap or paper, and then placing them in small or medium boxes (avoid large boxes). Do not place any boxes on top of boxes containing dishes. Mark these boxes as “fragile” to avoid mixing anything up. When possible, use special dish packing boxes called dish-packs.

Appliances: Clean and dry all appliances before placing them in your unit. Do not store anything inside your appliances to try and save space. We highly recommend storing all appliances upright with their doors ajar. This will allow items to ventilate.

Lawn Mowers: Drain gasoline from all engines. This will protect both your stored property and the property of others from the dangers of fire and explosion. Our contract prohibits the storage of quantities of flammables.

Food: Never store food in a storage unit - the mice and bugs will stop at nothing to get inside your unit if you do. Our contract prohibits storing food in the unit.

Self Storage Organizational Tips:

  • We strongly recommend labeling your boxed items – this will save you considerable time when searching for specific items. Try to at least label boxes with the room it belongs in, so you and your movers will know where to set them down in your new home!
  • Place items you’ll need sooner than later towards the front of your unit and items that you will not immediately need towards the back.
  • Leave a small airspace between the wall of your unit and your stored items, allowing for ventilation.
  • To help prevent condensation from damaging your items, use wood pallets or boards underneath furniture and boxes. All concrete floors will collect some condensate from time to time. Avoid opening your unit on a warm/humid day after a very cool night, everything can "sweat" in these conditions.
  • Always store heavy items on the bottom and lightweight items on top.
  • We advise to cover everything you can with plastic sheeting. Wooden furniture should have a base-wrap of blankets to avoid abrasion and moisture damage. Plastic sheeting will further protect your items!
  • Use a high quality, disc/round padlock to lock your storage unit (we usually provide these with your rental). This type of lock is difficult to cut or break and offers great protection.

DO NOT STORE THE FOLLOWING ITEMS!

Any living thing, used tires, firearms, explosives, flammables of any kind (gas, diesel, oil, paint, etc.), drugs or drug paraphernalia, stolen items, any type of hazardous items, furs, jewelry and other expensive items, perishable items of any kind (such as food), hazardous waste materials of any kind, items that produce odors or any item that will in any way impose upon other tenants.
